About me

My name is Marc, and Montreal is my home port. After years of juggling a demanding career at Solo, I have finally moved into a well-deserved retirement—keeping a young heart and an insatiable thirst for the unknown.
I am an adventure seeker at core: whether it is climbing a mountain or riding freely toward a distant destination, I feel most alive when in motion. This project has been maturing within me for a decade. It is not so much Argentina itself that calls to me, but everything that lies between here and there. On September 11, 2016, I officially traded the comforts of Quebec for the seat of my BMW R1200GSA—affectionately known as “La Gorda”—with a clear goal: to cross the Americas in search of freedom.
The Journey #
This site is the chronological record of a 27,000 km expedition, linking Montreal to the “end of the world” in Ushuaia. More than just a distance, this journey represents my transition from the structured life to the unpredictable rhythm of the road. I chose to share these moments so that my partner, my family, my friends, and other adventurers can experience the challenges awaiting me along the way.
From tropical heat to dizzying Andean passes, I am learning to navigate the mechanical nuances of my motorcycle, which has become my true home.
Why I Ride #
Motorcycle travel is, for me, the ultimate form of autonomy. It is a privilege that allows one to move according to their own whims, while remaining vulnerable and present to every weather change, every curve, and every local encounter.
Through these logs, I give you the raw reality of solo travel:
- The grit of preparation and managing the unexpected.
- The saving solitude of wide-open spaces.
- The striking contrast between the bustle of colonial cities and the silence of the peaks.
Whether you are a rider preparing for your own crossing or a curious soul seeking escape, I hope these stories inspire you to pursue your own horizon.
The journey continues southward.
